Admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1982 and after working for the firm for six years became a Partner in 1988.
Colin has a wide range of experience in litigious matters including contract breaches, banking and financial law, corporate and personal insolvency, and trade practices matters.
A significant part of Colin’s work involves the provision of advice to many clients in respect to corporations law and general contract and commercial issues.
Experience
As an adjunct to his legal pursuits Colin is also a member of the Australian Tax Institute and is a qualified mediator. Colin also has directorships in private companies involved with aquaculture and property investment. In his spare time Colin is active in many sporting pursuits including deep sea diving and Australian Rules Football.

Mark joined Page Seager in 1999. He became a partner in 2006. He practices in the area of dispute resolution. Including, but not limited, to commercial and general litigation, estate litigation and construction litigation and arbitration.
Experience
Mark completed a Bachelor of Science and Law at the University of Tasmania in 1998. He then spent some time in Antarctica before completing the required legal practice course and starting with Page Seager.

Mathew is recognised as one of Tasmania’s leading OHS practitioners. Mathew advises and provides advocacy for leading national and local businesses and insurers. His comprehensive understanding of his clients’ business objectives and the industry in which they operate has consistently delivered strong practically focussed outcomes in this area. Mathew has a particular expertise and understanding of Asbestos related diseases and workplace fatalities. Mathew regularly appears as Counsel before the Supreme Court of Tasmania and Victoria, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Court, in respect to both trials and appeals and has appeared as counsel in the High Court.
Experience
Mathew is a member of the Tasmanian Law Society, a past President of the Tasmanian Bar Association, a past board member of the Tasmanian Law Reform Institute, and a member of the Government advisory panel into Workers Compensation and Asbestos reform. He has provided advice to Government on Asbestos related disease issues.

David is Page Seager’s in house counsel. He was admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia in 1986. His role is both to appear for clients of Page Seager in courts and tribunals, and to provide advice to those clients and practitioners within the firm when counsel’s advice is needed.
David is also retained directly by some clients as their counsel and regularly acts as counsel for other firms of lawyers.
More specifically David appears in and provides advice in respect to matters involving:
- The Supreme Court in both civil and criminal matters at first instance and on appeal
- The Federal Court in both at first instance and on appeal
- Tribunals including the Workers Compensation Tribunal, the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and commercial arbitrations
- Professional Disciplinary Tribunals
- Industrial Health and Safety matters including as defence counsel in prosecutions
David regularly provides advice in relation to complex commercial matters and has extensive experience in mediations both facilitated by courts and tribunals and in respect of disputes which have not yet come to court.
Experience
David graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1986. He commenced practice apprenticed to the now Mr Justice Blow in Devonport. He became a partner at Oldham & Temple-Smith (subsequently Temple-Smith Barclay) in 1993 and resigned to relocate to Hobart in 2003.

Brett practises in general litigation, with a particular emphasis on building and construction disputes and general insurance litigation. He is able to assist clients during all stages of a matter including the provision of advice, assistance in disputes and negotiations and as a practitioner in proceedings. He regularly appears for clients in the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the Magistrates Court of Tasmania. Brett also practises criminal law.
Experience
Brett graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2003. In 2004 he began working for another Hobart law firm before commencing as an associate with Page Seager in 2008.
