Overview
Melinda represents a number of national insurance companies, providing strategic legal advice and advocacy across a broad range of complex and contentious claims. Her focus is representing clients in responding to workers compensation claims and acting as a contact for case managers and insureds to give specialised workers compensation advice and guidance. Melinda is involved in all stages of claims, from initial liability assessment and investigations through to litigation and settlement negotiations.
Melinda has broad experience in insurance law, motor vehicle accidents, public liability and abuse matters. She has also worked with the Tasmanian work health and safety regulator, as well as acted for injured workers with workers compensation claims and employment related issues.
Melinda has a practical and strategic focus in dealing with her clients to assist them in achieving the best possible outcome for all parties involved.

Examples of relevant experience include:
- providing efficient advice regarding workers compensation claims, including initial disputes, ongoing management of claims, common law claims, and complex psychological claims;
- assisting in the resolution of claims to achieve settlements that are in the best interests of all parties;
- having a comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks, scheme administration and workplace injury management;
- acting for insurers in recovery claims against negligent third parties and contribution matters between insurers; and
- acting for insurers in common law actions.
