Planning & Environment

We deal with complex planning, heritage and environmental matters in an efficient and commercially focused way. That means delivering effective solutions across a range of planning and environmental issues, including:

  • assessing the application of planning scheme standards on developments, including heritage, biodiversity and subdivision issues;
  • advising on planning and environmental issues and appearing at mediations and appeals in the Tasmanian Civil & Administrative Tribunal (Resource and Planning Stream) and the Supreme Court; and
  • advising on planning scheme amendments and applications to amend sealed plans.

  • ASX listed funds on acquisitions, retail leasing and sales of shopping centres in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland;
  • ASX listed companies on their commercial, industrial and retail leasing transactions;
  • community housing providers in the acquisition, development and management of large housing portfolios across Tasmania;
  • developers of major CBD sites, including the redevelopment of Hobart Parliament Square, University of Tasmania accommodation facilities, hotels and large-scale office buildings;
  • agricultural businesses purchasing and developing large farming properties, including dairy farms and vineyards;
  • property funds, shopping centre owners and major tourism operators in significant subdivisions, heritage listings and appeals in the Tasmanian Civil & Administrative Tribunal (Resource and Planning Stream) and the Supreme Court;
  • principals and contractors on infrastructure projects, including runway overlays, bridge upgrades, dam enlargements, water and wastewater schemes, road and bridge construction;
