Overview

Marc provides advice to local government on regulatory matters including statutory planning, statutory building and plumbing, environmental protection, rates and charges, right to information, land acquisition, by-laws, competitive neutrality, animal control, meeting procedure and general governance.

He works with property owners, prospective purchasers and property developers providing advice on statutory planning, land acquisition and due diligence.

Marc also advises state-owned corporations providing advice on statutory planning, right to information, and legislative powers and obligations.

Experience

Marc’s focus is on providing fast, practical, solutions based advice.

Examples of his experience include:

  • providing advice to private developers regarding the prospects of proposed planning applications and managing the application process;
  • advising local government entities regarding the interpretation, application and enforcement of planning permits, planning schemes and the associated legislation;
  • initiating and defending planning appeals and conducting planning enforcement proceedings in the Tasmanian Civil & Administrative Tribunal (Resource and Planning Stream); and
  • providing general advice to local government entities and state-owned corporations regarding the statutory powers and obligations in their governing legislation.

He regularly appears in TASCAT and court proceedings.
