Sara-Jane works with insurers, brokers, underwriters and employers providing litigation and dispute resolution experience with medical negligence, personal injury and public and product liability claims.
Sara-Jane has extensive civil litigation and Courtroom advocacy skills and experience.
Experience
Sara-Jane’s focus is on providing practical advice and tailored strategies and solutions.
Examples of her experience include:
- counsel assisting the Coroner in the inquest into the deaths during Targa Tasmania 2021 and 2022;
- defending complex medical negligence claims for death or personal injury, including prosecuting and defending contribution and indemnity claims;
- defending complex public and product liability claims for personal injury and property damage;
- advising insurers on matters of indemnity, quantum and strategy;
- investigating and obtaining expert opinions including medical and engineering;
- successfully prosecuting and defending civil litigation claims in Tasmanian, Victorian and Federal Courts;
- acting as instructing solicitor and assisting counsel in Supreme and Federal Court proceedings; and
- assisting with defending investigations commenced by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) against medical professionals.
Sara-Jane is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA).
She has appeared in the Federal Courts of Australia and the Supreme and Magistrates Courts of Tasmania.
