Dan has over 20 years’ experience working with private and corporate clients, government business enterprises and state-owned corporations. He provides advice on property acquisitions (including due diligence), development and disposals, commercial and retail leasing and large-scale housing transactions.

His expertise includes advising on risk allocation, ownership structures, finance and security arrangements, duty and subdivision issues.

Dan is one of the leading property lawyers in Tasmania. He is a Principal Lawyer in Page Seager’s Property group which has achieved a first tier ranking amongst firms practising within the areas of transactional and real property.

Experience

Dan has a strong reputation for providing strategic and risk management advice in a timely and pragmatic manner.

Examples of recent significant matters include:

  • the acquisition and development of vineyards, hotels, and large-scale commercial buildings for national and international developers;
  • acting for a large community housing provider in its acquisition and development of significant property portfolios;
  • acting in the establishment, leasing and sale of restaurant chains across Australia;
  • acting in the acquisition and development of large scale agricultural properties (including vineyards and dairy farms);
  • acting as the sole legal provider in Tasmania to a large agricultural bank; and
  • undertaking sales and acquisitions, and commercial and retail leasing on behalf of private clients, state owned corporations and government business enterprises.

Dan regularly provides training and seminars to clients across the State. He is an inaugural member of Speak Up! Stay ChatTY and sits on the Board of several other not for profit entities, including schools and development funds.
