Overview

Mathew joined Page Seager in July 2024. He graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2021 with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2022. Mathew worked at another Hobart law firm for two years prior to joining Page Seager where he practises in our Dispute Resolution group.

Experience

Mathew regularly assists in matters involving:

  • debt recovery through the Magistrate and Supreme Court of Tasmania;
  • residential and commercial building disputes;
  • issuing and responding to payment claims under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2009;
  • securities enforcement and related insolvency matters;
  • disputes involving real property, including disputes regarding caveats, easements and tenancy agreements;
  • applications under the Judicial Review Act 2000 and other appeals involving the Tasmanian Interim Planning Scheme; and
  • risk management advice for clients during the negotiation of commercial agreements.
