Overview

Emily is an experienced employment and industrial relations practitioner, working with clients in a range of industries and sectors including health, financial and legal services, government, education and religious organisations. Emily joins from a large national firm and for a number of years has been recognised on Doyle’s “Leading Employment Lawyers” list. She is the only lawyer in Tasmania accredited as a specialist in workplace relations law.

Emily is invested in the long-term success of her clients and is sensitive to the complex human elements that underpin workplace relations matters. She partners with her clients to help them run happy, healthy workplaces that are free from disputes. Emily works to resolve disputes early and in a trauma-informed and commercially pragmatic way.

Experience

Emily handles all issues relating to the employment relationship including: harassment, discrimination, contracts and restraint of trade, termination of employment, and the management of difficult employees. With respect to industrial matters, Emily provides strategic advice about employment structures and industrial relations planning and management, including collective bargaining.

Emily has acted for many clients involved in high-profile employment and industrial issues including: employment and tribunal matters for a number of AFL Clubs, discrimination and bullying claims involving members of Parliament; allegations of sexual harassment involving members of the judiciary; and contract negotiations for high profile national media and sporting personalities.
